(Santa Fe, NM) “Over the weekend the New Mexico Republican Party headquarters in Albuquerque was attacked and set on fire. I strongly condemn this despicable act, and I am relieved that no one was injured. Political violence and vandalism have no place in our democracy nor in New Mexico, and it is not who we are. As President of the Senate during our annual legislative sessions, I see the love both Democratic and Republican legislators show daily, and more importantly, live every day beyond any differences of party politics. These and any acts of such violence are absolutely unacceptable. I hope whoever are responsible for these alarming acts of arson and vandalism are brought to justice swiftly and held accountable.”
